Why We’re Different….

Here’s the deal….not everyone gets the opportunity to play the drums when they are a kid.

I started relatively late myself. Most of the people I went to college with started at age 4-5 and I started at 16. A literal lifetime away from the kids I was competing with in college and grad school.

I wasn’t ever the best at anything in music school, I struggled more than probably anyone because of my late start and seemingly nothing came naturally. 

Within that was a gift.

My teachers were great but I needed more. So I had to become my own teacher with the info they gave me. I had to break it down even more simply and clearly than anyone did for me, which led me to become such a good teacher, for students of any age. So far I’ve taught as young as four up to students in their 60’s and 70’s and I’m convinced with a little bit of practice during the week, the right attitude and the right teaching approach, anyone can play the drums.
